The Science and the Art of Observation

Raj Dubey acquired degrees in Mathematics and Civil Engineering from India. He moved to Canada in 1964 for post graduate degree in Civil Engineering. He joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering, the University of Waterloo in 1967 as a faculty member. He retired in 1996. Since then, he has devoted his time to reading and writing on ancient Indian thoughts about life and living, travelling and teaching in India and at the University of Waterloo. He is a founding member of the Spiritual Heritage Education Network.

Raj presentation is entitled “The Science and the Art of Observation”. The art of observation allows people to discover multi-faceted nature of their inherent personality. It is likely to help them live a wholesome life, both individually and as a member of the human race. How personality depends on endowment, environment and education will be discussed. Personality cannot be separated from heritage people receive as endowment, but environment and education can help it evolve in a chosen direction. Logic, ethics and aesthetics are part of personality people use to help them lead wholesome lives.
